Gee Bob, I read the same article in today's A.C. Press about the new outlet center being discussed. From my view of the map, this proposed center is in Pleasantville, not Atlantic City. The tunnel, or Brigantine Connector as it is being called, is a tunnel from the brand new convention center to and from the Marina area to relieve traffic in Atlantic City proper and to provide better access to Brigantine Island. The jughandle presently in use on Route 30, which causes major traffic backups to the Marina District and for those wishing to get to Brigantine will be eliminated with the tunnel construction and a new "flyway" will be constructed for a direct link to the island. Sounds like good progress to me. Good for the State of NJ, Good for the residents of Brigantine, Good for Steve Wynn, Good for Atlantic Ctiy. Now if only MGM would get off it's duff and begin construction on all the acres of property east of Showboat they have amassed and if the Aussie who purchased Resorts will get going on his stalled project and begin putting shovels into the ground, maybe the hullaballooo about the tunnel will be funnelled into more positive actions that were supposed to be taking place.
