...to leave it alone. Cleaning does not improve grade, although I'll admit that it improves looks aesthetically. Cleaning a well-worn scarce chip only makes it appear very obviously cleaned. I would rather have it dirty. Yes, I've cleaned chips ... but only those chips that are in nice condition with light soiling from handling to begin with. Just my personal opinion.
