Maybe when they used to sell 70¢ Keno tickets they gave these in change?
Or maybe since it was the "300 Club" everybody would buy into the game for $300. and you would get 1000 of these chips?
Or maybe they did not want to be known as a "two-bit" joint so they upped it a nickel?
