Hi Archie,
I asked those questions because the Orleans final proposal has made them look like the bad guys, and there has been no public discussion about earlier offers laid on the table to us by the Orleans for the year 2000 convention. I didn't ask or imply that you were involved in negotiations, I asked if you made the decision(s) after the negotiations prior to the final offer from the Orleans was presented. If they made favorable offers to accomodate our convention that were rejected, it should be known, as a credit to them, and it should be known who might have rejected said offer(s) and why. The questions have no reference to Mike or Wayne, or the jobs they did.
I did bring up the fliers IN MY PROPOSITION to the BOD months ago. I made that info public due to criticism on how to pay for a full membership mailing after you made your declaration on how it will happen. I wasn't told what tools the club would provide, three boxes just showed up at work. You could have asked me what my needs were in this area, or what I could expect from the club. I thought I was working with/for Wayne.
Perhaps my natural curiousity is what landed me in my current part-time job, one that I couldn't do if my own business wasn't successful (try telling your boss that you'll be taking 12 vacations next year), working as a reporter. I don't want to know only what looks like what is happening. I want to know what really happens. It can rub some people the wrong way. That's fine with me, because people who just want to sit on the sidelines and watch the world go by, then complain when someone wants to dig under the surface of what is sometimes layers of protection, they deserve to be uninformed. These people will ignore information that might be of import to them out of a desire for convenience, or harmony. We are all human and will all act out of emotion at some time. Calling people involved in emotional discussions names is a pretty good example, especially when the name callers have a choice to read the notes or not read the notes.
Your emails haven't been ignored Archie. I've chosen to continue some of these discussions in public. Also, some of your emails are so long, to address every point would take a day to do, and when I get a day off, I'm looking for a cheap plane ticket to Vegas.<G>
I don't wish ongoing animousity between me and you. Perhaps we can end this battle here. I expect future disagreements, but that's what politics are about.
Regards,
Bob
