Jim; Why stop at the $100? If people can't afford to collect $500 chips, then they shouldn't begin. What happened to putting limits on one's collecting budget? Why not limit ones self to collecting everything from a particular casino up to a specific denomination? If it's $5.... so be it. If it is $100... that's o.k. too.
