Jim; Your post up further up the thread said the following: " The issue is: Collectors cannot afford $500.00 to $600.00 a month to try and keep current. Your answer is: Let them collect less; specialize - don't collect $25.00. Like that's a solution for the "joints" greed."
How do you know what collectors can afford to spend, Jim? You are probably correct that the mainstream average collector can't afford $500 to $600 per month.... but you know, and I know, several collectors who spend that much and more each month. Jim; there are levels in every hobby. In coins, there are many many collectors who spend four figures a month on coins. Does the average collector spend that much? No, but there are many collectors who specialize in gold coins that do.... because they have the resources to do so. So let the casinos issue their $25 chips. If there are customers for them, they will continue to produce them. It has nothing to do with greed. There obviously is a demand for the stuff otherwise they wouldn't order it.
