Hi Guys,
With todays browsers, it is very easy to grab anyone's pictures off their web site and use them. There is no need to use their URL's which is more of an intrusion to their site than anything else. Especially if they have bandwith limitations on their sites use, they can incur more charges for over utilization.
If anyone here has NETSCAPE 4.0+ they can grab almost any graphic from any site and download it to their computer then upload it to their own site and use the graphic from there.
Using a graphic from someone elses URL to display graphics and or pages without their permission is poor NETIQUITE.(WWW Etiquite)
Most people will complain that just grabbing someone elses graphic and using it on their website is wrong and IS if the item is copyrighted, otherwise it is common practice that one can grab the graphic and upload it to THEIR OWN site.
Now using someone's URL to grab graphic has other implications for the user in that the graphic is gone once the OWNER of the URL either removes the graphic or rename's it. When this happens your link to the graphic disappears permanently.
What I've done here is to grab the CC>CC logo and upload it to my site and enter it here as an example. The graphic is comming from my web site.
The club logo is copyrighted isn't it? Then I shouldn't be using it here. This is just an example of how easy it is to grab graphics from the WWW and use them for your own purpose.
