I have picked up some $1 chips from the Long Island Players Club, a Long Island membership required poker club, which is located in Syosset, New York (Nassau County). Unlike the Big Slick Social Club (which has been shut down), the LIPC does not have its own location. It is housed, at night on weekdays, and evenings and nights on weekends, in a space in an industrial park which is used by a graphics company during work hours. It is quite small (4 or 5 tables), but holds tournaments as well as cash games. Like Big Slick, they have a web site, which may attract the attention of the local authorities, so I rushed over there as soon as I could.
Like the Big Slick chips, the chips are an inexpensive make, but they told me they are going to be getting new chips soon. I don't know what they meant by "soon," and I wasn't convinced they were really going to do it, but I hope they get some nicer chips. Here is the front of the chip:
Here is the reverse:
I picked up 10 chips, and I have 5 left to trade or sell (I am hanging on to 2). I will sell the chips for $4 each, shipping included, but would prefer to trade them. I am trying to acquire common obsolete Aruba chips that I don't own, but I will look at any trade list. I can accept paypal, but no credit card payments, please.
If you are interested, please send me an e-mail (rather than posting here).
Thanks
Michael Siskin
