Re: Jeton id needed
In Response To: Re: Jeton id needed ()

Thank you, Allan.

I'd like to comment on the France section of "The
Gaming Table" as being very accurate. From
time-to-time I receive questions asking why certain
casino names found on chips believed to be from
France are not found in this section. To answer
this question, without going into French casino
regulations, you will find in most cases at lease
one name of what "a casino in question" has been
known by through the years whether it be Casino
Municipal XXX, Casino de XXX or XXX Casino (and
variations of). Some French casino names have had
up to 5 or 6 name changes (sometimes in over a
100-year period) and it would only confuse the
reader more to list every name for the same casino.
What is important, and very accurate in the listing
is the department and the city within. An example
being (Greg's question of a Casino Municipal ROYAT)
as Allan pointed out the casino [Casino de Royat] being on page 46 and
216 (also on page 383 under France), and listed as
Casino de Royat, with Puy-de-Dome as the department
and Royat as the city.

I'm still learning.
