Hi Jim,
I had an exchange with Bob Passamenti on these chips via email when he 1st put them up for auction on eBay. My inquiry might have been what lead him to go as far as the Christi's of Beverly Hills authentication. Given that every other auction item that he had running on eBay at the time of my 1st email to him was of a movie related memorablia nature (nothing chip related), and he gave me the impression that he wanted to find out for sure everything about these that he could (as his correspondences with you also appears to indicate), I thanked him for his efforts and wished him luck on obtaining a bid on something that he probably paid a good-sized chunk of change to people that are in the movie collectibles trade. I know for sure that he wishes that he knew before hand that Paulson is selling them out of their retail store.
I think there might be a small number of the chips that actually were removed fron the movie set, but there isn't really a way to tell if you have them....and even if you do, IMO, they'd have to be autographed by the director....or James Bond...or SOMEONE!
.....did Paulson do a count on the returned chips? ....is there an inventory list of the original prop chips? It's unfortunate that movie fans can't rely on what is represented as prop chips by some folks, and it's even more unfortunate that some movie collectible folks can have the value of an item that might be legit turned into almost nothing......
