Section 9 of the club's code of ethics states:
9. To furnish requested advice to the best of my ability and knowledge, and not to take advantage of superior knowledge on my part to the disadvantage of a less knowledgeable collector.
I've always kind of wondered how this section fits into the dream of many chip collectors, which is to make a great find. Often the great find means finding some less knowledgable person who has a chip or chips they don't realize are valuable. I suppose some might argue that if the person you buy it from is not a "collector" or fellow club member, maybe it is OK to take advantage of your own superior knowledge? I'm not expressing an opinion one way or another, but like you I've thought about this same subject.
