I detailed how a chip was found at the site on Chequers as an article for Neal and to see how many go to both sources for chip news. There is no gaming in Hong Kong or Kowloon, but has thrived in Macao, 40 minutes across the bay on the mainland. Macao will revert to PRC ownership Dec. 20 1999 which is a huge event in the Far East with many buildings clocking the countdown to that date when China will have returned another territory that Colonialists stole centuries ago. Predictions are that gaming will continue for the economic welfare of the area and provide needed tourism and income to the blighted areas of Southern China. Hong Kong has been badly treated economically since the takeover with much emphasis on Shanghai developing into China's major seaport and center of commerce. The current Premier was mayor of Shanghai so politics still prevail .....Did not get to Macao since our trip was tightly planned and I was not able to visit the family village across the border from Macao because it would entail another entry visa being issued when the 50th Anniversary traffic was already creating gridlock of 1.3 billion visiting the urban areas for the first time in their lives to celebrate the PRC. It was the most dazzling fireworks show I have ever seen when 5 barges on Hong Kong Harbor put on the show of the century the eve of Oct. 1 when we viewed it from our rooms at the Regent overlooking Hong Kong from Kowloon. Unforgetable. Oh...chipping?
Well, read Chequers and that is all the news I have about chips in China
