The yahoo who believes that Oregon should NOT legalize poker for charity is a person named Butler, a Republican from the SE corner of Oregon. Definatly the red part of a blue state so's the R thing figures. Odd place to live for a person with such an odd idea. Borders Nevada for instance and the folks that live out thataway (the Oregon part...) are pretty down to earth and friendly. More sagebrush than humans. They grow things (sugar beets and cows) and hunt and fish the abundant resorces in the area. Self-reliance is a virtue and Big Gov is an anathema. I've spent some time working in the area with these people and frankly I'm mystified how Butler figures he represents the area and votes against charitable activites.
