According to today's Atlantic City Press, "the Casino Control Commmission on Wednesday allowed casinos to offer 100-times odds bets in A.C. craps. The previous odds maximum was 20-times the original line bet.
Odds bets allow gamblers who bet on the pass, don't pass, come and don't-come lines to make a supplemental bet. The original bet is paid even money, but the odds bet is paid on the true odds of making the point before hitting a seven. Such odds on making a point can be as high as 2-1.
Experienced players take as much of an odds bet as they can because it almost eliminates the house advantage.
Trump Marina Hotel Casino sought the change in July. A Marina spokeswoman said Wednesday the casino has no immediate plans to offer it.
The commission also allowed Harrah's Atlantic City to expand its casino by 142 additional slot machines and 3,125 square feet. Harrah's said the addition, located in it's former Deli Restaurant, should be open by Christmas."
