That's what I was trying to convey in my original post. Publicity doesn't need to cost money. Tapping media outlets is a source of free promotion. Press releases written with proper grammar and spell checked sent to the right media desk of a newspaper, TV station, or national feed like AP can only do wonders for what is now a relatively unknown hobby. I'll be at a make-up NHRA eliminations event next week and will ask the people that know, is the AP AGATE that we send area specific, or could I send any articles concerning any subject?
While I know that the major newswires have both regional and 2 national reception centers, I'm not sure as to how they might break down categories of current news articles. It's well worth looking into, and I will do so.
