...passenger on a flight delayed by 5 hours out of Reno yesterday, I can't see very many routes where such a monster would be practical.
Ticketing and boarding areas in most airports would have to be modified to accommodate 555 passengers. Security screening would be more of a pain than it already is, and I can't imagine how they could handle baggage claim without using multiple claim areas with color coded luggage tags like they do on cruise ships.
...I kinda liked the plane I flew on from Hayes to Great Bend to Kansas City, and back, over Christmas. The lady at the Hayes airport who checked my luggage and gave me my boarding pass was also the person on the tarmac with the orange batons parking the plane. The parking lot at the Hayes airport was maybe large enough for 50 cars. Long tern parking was "in the back row" according to the sign. The plane itself had 9 rows of seats, one on each side of the aisle, and the cabin steward was also the co-pilot. ...quite an adventure!
