... but I had to get up at 5:00 this morning for an 8:30 court hearing in San Jose, so went to bed early last night (11:30). Didn't do much good, as I wasn't really tired yet.

It was so early (and dark!) when I got up, my dog didn't even peek out from under her blanket to say goodbye. Five am is an ugly time to be getting up. Sorry I missed you last night.
