I have a buddy who had a single seat Funco with a Volkswagon Rabbit engine in it. He raced the car in the mini-sprint class on the Colorado Hill Climb circuit and he'd haul the car west to race it in the SCORE series.

One year he decided he wanted to compete against the guys racing upright sprint cars on Pikes Peak. We dropped a Buick V-6 in the car. It was out of control! Too much horsepower for such a light car, it drove like a short wheel based altered with a blown hemi. The car went where it wanted to go and you hoped that's where you wanted to go too!

Your party on the dunes sounds like a lot of fun! Have a couple cold ones for me, and don't roll it!
