I don't think that casinos advertise openings for prop poker players. One of the Turf Club owners asked me if I'd like to get paid for what I was already doing.
The only difference between just playing and being a prop was I would be expected to give up a seat or move to a different table during the course of a day, whenever asked. That was my job in their mind. My job to me was to break even at worst everyday, then pick up a paycheck every two weeks. It was a lot of fun, and if I didn't have too many irons in other fires, or lived much less than an hour-and-a-half drive from the casino(s), I might still be doing it.
..been keeping an eye on land in and around Cripple Creek. It wouldn't be a bad place to retire.
