... trouble for years. And they most certainly are an issue for us as casino chip collectors. What difference does it make that this particular auction happens to be in a movie collectibles category?
This auction is one of the more egregiously false and misleading Bond chip auctions that I've seen. It says, without qualification, that the chips are the real deal:
>> THIS SET OF POKER CHIPS FROM THE HIT
>> JAMES BOND MOVIE "LICENCE TO KILL"
Whatever else they might be, they are decidedly not "from the movie". We know that with certainty because the $1000 was not produced by Paul-Son until years after the movie was released. I don't have time to search the archives for it now, but details on this fact have been previously posted.
The archives also contain many messages regarding these chips being offered in casino collectibles auctions on eBay, sometimes even as genuine casino chips.
Fraud in the sale of ANY chip which is, appears to be or purports to be a casino chip is our "business".
