Gene & Rene ----- there is a reasonable interpretation of Rene's first statement which does not create a contradiction in the second. It can be read (in fact, applying strict rules of English language interpretation, should be read) to mean that Rene talked to some people who had both done some research and looked at some pictures, rather than to mean that Rene both talked to some people and looked at some pictures. If he meant the latter interpretation, which I take to be the meaning you gave it, he would be committing a reference error in structuring the sentence. Considering his obvious problems with the language, I think (on this one apparent contradiction at least) he is entitled to the benefit of the doubt. ----- jim o\-S
