...... all 3 of these categories exist in every area of collectibles ...... it goes with the territory .... however, consider these ...
Example 1: A Fantasy chip that says Dunes with the closing date is worth something to someone who wants a remembrance of some good times they had at the Dunes way back when, then that is great ........... but if some idiot down the road suddenly thinks that some Dunes chip with a closing date on it has some value, then shame on them .........
Example 2: A bunch of Fakes like a set of Sands chips for a home poker set might be really neat for someone who has memories of the Sands and would like to recreate that for their home games ... but what does that have to do with us ?
Example 3: A Counterfeit like the 4th issue Fremont that was counterfeited to steal from the casino back in the 60's is now a collector's item .....
What we have to keep in perspective as chip collectors is that not absolutely everything that has to do with chips necessarily affects our hobby and our values ........... !!!!!
