I'll leave it to others to answer fully the question about "Fantasy vs. Fake vs. Counterfeit." All three terms refer to "bad" practices in that are currntly made, to look like old, valuable collectible items. That is, they are made to look like things that were made in the normal course of business, long ago, to be used in non-collectible areas, like in a casino or a private poker game. Actually, they are made to sell to unsuspecting collectors, who are led to believe they were not made solely to sell as collectibles.
To go on and say more than I intended: Counterfeits and fantasy things are both fakes -- made to defraud people, sell them things they wouldn't buy if they knew the truth. Counterfeits are reproductions of actual old stuff. Fantasies are modern items of novel designs that look like the type that are idenfied with old, valuable collectibles.
