Chip article in Numismatic News

In the December 28th issue of Numismatic News appears an article on page 32 with the headline ...

COIN CLUB CASHES IN ITS CHIPS

"Casino chips and tokens were the subject of a talk at the November 10 meeting of the Redwood Empire Coin Club in Santa Rosa, California.

More than 90 members and guests heard a presentation by Mel and Lisa Jung, specialists and dealers in casino chips and tokens with a combined 40 years of experience in the specialty.

Though there are some 3,000 to 5,000 active casino chip and token hobbyists in the United States, the hobby is still in its infancey, remarked Mel Jung. The first organization devoted to the specialty began only 15 years ago. Mel Jung has assembled the largest collection in California with some 7,500 different pieces."
