I am a bit confused about the dates the following casinos were open.

(1) The Ponderosa;
(2) The Sands; and
(3) The Virginian.

The Chip Guide lists the Ponderosa as being open from 1967 to 1985 and then from 1990 to 1982 (???). It says the Sands has been open from 1978, but doesn't say when it became the Sands Regency. Finally, it says the Virginian is still open. I understand it was bought out by the Club Cal Neva, and the Virginian Hotel Tower still bears that name, but I thought the casino was part of the Club Cal Neva now, and used Club Cal Neva chips. If so, when did the Virginian cease to be a separate casino?
