Personal opinion:
Very few tokens have ever been produced for other than casino usage. That of course excludes Silver Strikes which I feel better fall into the Gift Shop catagory.
Next to California cardroom and Native American chips for my son's memorial project, tokens are my true passion.
Most of the chips produced since the 90's have been and will continue to be produced for the collector and have little if any use in the casino proper.
I agree that tokens are fast approaching the status of the gooney bird but I see that as a positive rather than a negative. I am waiting for one of the Nevada casinos to produce the 366 $5 chips set for Leap Year. Just think of it, a chip a day.
Price structure is a matter I would rather leave untouched. I am a hobbiest and not a dealer or the like. I understand some evaluation must be arrived at in a trade or sale, but will leave that up to the various parties.
I have had my 2 1/2 cents worth.
