Hiya Sands Fan, found a reference to him in Reid & Demaris' book The Green Felt Jungle, copyright '63. He was a 9% owner in the Sands at that time. Other notables in Sands ownership concurrent were Carl Cohen, Jack Entratter and Sadie Freeman. Frank Sinatra had a 9% share of the Sands also! Green Felt... is along the lines of yellow journalism and long on purple prose, states:

Actually, the Sands has been controlled by more different mobs than any other casino in Nevada.

The book talks about Sands owners at opening:

...Hyman Abrams, who said he operated a restaurant in Boston;...
