How did they know the change was there?

I innocently went to grab my change and found more.What if I had taken the money out of the tray and THEN played it? Oh another felony-money laundering. : ) Is there a LV law that states the money in the tray is the casinos? Or the money in the tray left over is the casinos? I dont think I did anything wrong.Please explain. Rick
