Thanks again Denny for the invite. Jeff and I both enjoyed the event. Nice clean room and pretty good food too. Good seeing you and Bob Bickford again.
What I am learning about these events is this;
You need to get some good cards, you need to make good decisions, you need a touch of luck, and you need to be able to endure. Five hours at the table with two 5 minute breaks. Endurance and stamina are a very important piece of the puzzle.
I do not consider myself old, however as I approach 56 I find a five hour contest of decision after decision takes its toll. I feel beat up.
The rule tonight about having to forfiet your chips if you were unable to make the big blind, was just plain nuts. As the blinds were about to become 1600 - 3200, it meant that if you had 3100 in chip count in front of you, you would have to give up your chips at that point because you could not meet the big blind. Dumb! It changed the way I and several others were forced to play the last few hands.
Had fun, tired now, need to sleep. First was within my grasp but I can live with this.
