Re: Question - modified chips & TCR values

Although our reasoning has been questioned by many and the process has a good chance of being overturned in the next edition, here is what happened. Our computer guru preped the data base before sending the file to the printer. Since the going price to "fix" drilled or notched chips was about 25.00, we added 25.00 to the cancelled chip for the modified value. This was to cause the cads who were having chips fixed, to ponder whether it would be worthwhile to break even after fixing a chip. Most values of the authentic chips were much greater than the cancelled state. You found one (Monte Carlo) where the authentic chips were very common and the values were so low that adding 25.00 to the cancelled value, made it greater than the authentic one. Such is the problem with one-step changes on a computer. grin
