I do it all the time, Barry. In fact twice this week in Biloxi. At some point in each round, they "count down" each player. You should ask after what hand the countdown is, like after hand 15, for example. You better have everything you want by then, and preferably, be gone by that time. The countdown will only highlight your chips to everyone, and chipcount is very important in the waning hands of a tournament. Don't forget to always bet odd amounts so that if you get a blackjack you will get the highly coveted 2.50 chip. An odd amount will also help when the dealer shows an ace. Needless to say, you must take insurance in order to get the snapper. If there's a special chip you want to harvest, like a 2.50 or a high denom, after pocketing it I would suggest going all in, and losing on purpose (such as hitting 16 against a 6) in order to get out before anyone asks, "where's his 500?". I always keep a roll of mints in my pocket so that when I palm a chip or chips and go into my pocket, I can always come out with something as a reason for going into my pocket. You never know who's watching.
