Most chains have hotels at the Hotel Circle, right next to the freeway, with good access everywhere. Make sure you reserve rooms several weeks ahead or right now, otherwise it is next to impossible to find a reasonably priced room in San Diego. If you wish something more fancy, try the resorts on Coronado Island.
