Re: Idea - Next round of tournaments on Poker Star

***I found the games to play much faster than I had expected. Being a senior citizen and not very bright, I found it impossible to keep track of who knocked me out.***

Jim, I agree with you that for us senior citizens, the on line play is fast. I, for one, cannot keep up with the fast pace of reading some completed hands, especially those of the Hi-lo games. They muck the hands to fast and I can't get a read on them.

***I would find committing for 25 weeks would be impossible. I was not able to play most nights because of other events.
Maybe a couple of people could be a team, and play for each other. They would have to decide who would advance when it came to final table.***

As Andy said, everyone cannot be satisfied with the structure being set up. We will see what the response is to this proposed tournament, and if enough agree, then it will happen.

Possibly we could have more than one tournament going at one time with a different structure. Personally, I'd like to see one being played 2 to 3 times a week. grin

***The tourney just reinforced to me, that there are professionals in Poker. I do not know what percentage is luck, but I feel a pro has the advantage in the long run.***

I believe this is true in any field of endeavor, be it a sporting event or in professional life. In poker, as is probably true with other activities that deal especially with the turn or the card or roll of the dice, luck is a major factor but skill usually wins out.

So called "bad beats" occur all the time and is just part of the game and all card players should expect them to happen. I watch the SuperStars of Poker being played every week and consistantly see the "best of the best" being knocked out in every tournament. All the "Pros" just wave it off with disappointing but with a professional attitude. They know there is another game tomorrow and hopefully they will score another big one at that time.

Many of these professionals play ring games every day with as much as a million dollars more or less being won or lost all the time. I believe I read somewhere that most are very satisfied if they come in the money 1 out of every 20 tournaments.

In our little group, Andy is the decisive champion as he won not only the final tournament but if all 11 tournaments were averaged out, I believe he would have come in first place in points as well. Congratulations once again, Andy.
