With the recent thread on shipping and feedback, I thought I'd bring up the topic of proper shipping charges.
On my auctions for single chips, I charge $2 for the first chip and $1 for each chip after. I put every chip in a flip or a 2x2 zip baggie, then place the chips in a standard 4x7 bubble mailer. If someone buys 10 chips or more, I put the bubble mailer in a Priority Mail box and pay the extra shipping myself as a show of appreciation.
My cost covers supplies, shipping, eBay fees, PayPal fees and time. I think it's reasonable and I've never had any customer with a real problem. When I was selling a lot (100+ chips a week), I would have repeat buyers EVERY week buying 5-25 chips and never once complaining about shipping.
So, my question is this: What is reasonable? What is too much? Are my own s/h costs too much?
Any input is appreciated (even negative comments). I have 100% feedback and I want to do what I can to keep my customers happy. Also, as a buyer, I like to pay a fair and reasonable price for s/h.
