Today's note comes from the South American country of Peru. It is a 1985 issue 10 Intis featuring Richard Palma at right and as watermark, with the Peruvian seal at center. The back depicts an Indian farmer digging using a crude shovel and another picking cotton. This note was printed by Thomas De la Rue London LTD.
During the period from around 1984 and extending beyond 1990. Peru sufferd from hyperinflation that saw the Sol (earlier unit of currency) depreciate in value dramaticly and drasticly. A sudden need for the new Inti banknotes caused the government to approach a number of different security printers inorder to satisfy the demand for new notes. Collector Value 50¢ UNC.
