I won't get involved in the sniping issue as there is no "right" answer for it. It always just turns into a long diatribe that comes to no conclusion.
IMHO, I am all for it. I use it on ocassion for various reasons and also bid in the open. From a selling standpoint, I love snipers. They always pay the price to win.
Shills, who cares and why would you. I know it is prevalent and there is no way to stop it in most cases. recently some fines were levied.
Point being, if you have half a brain you know what you are willing to spend for an item. If you don't you should be doing some research and find out.
If I see an auction that appears to have a shill involved I just wait and bid what I feel I can spend. If the shill gets stuck with it, well so be it.
I realize everyone likes a bargain and shills probably eliminate that possibility. However, shills are not going away on Ebay or at live auctions. It's just an ugly fact of life.
Ebay isn't perfect by a long shot but it has allowed me to amass a collection in a few years that would have taken me a lifetime without it.
I am not condemning whatever it is you are trying to do but I myself don't have the time to run all over the internet to these small auction/selling sites.
