Will, I realize you were just trying to get a point across when you wrote:
As an analogy - my wife has a poodle(she treats them like children), and sometimes I think she loves them more than me . The FMV of a poodle is probably $300 - $500. If you tried to buy one from her for that amount (or even 10 times that amount), she'd refuse to sell. However, if you offered her a million dollars for one - I think you'd be the proud owner of a new poodle. That doesn't mean she was trying to take advantage of you.
But I can tell you, that in my case there truely is not enough money in this world for either my wife nor myself to consider selling our little Yorkie.
Now as far as my children are concerned....... that's another matter.
