I don't know you, but I do know some of the other people who've offered you the chips and commented on your threads.
That being said, I would like to address a comment you made when referring to "all of you"...
"Your over all opinions and intent to take advantage of someone, is noted."
You appear to arrive at this conclusion based on unsound reasoning and I'd like to examine what really happened...
1. You repeated beg over a period of days for someone to sell you The Chip.
2. No one is interested in selling their chip. In fact several people tell you they wouldn't sell at any price.
3. You point out that "everything has a price", and say you'll pay any amount for The Chip.
4. You're proved right - a few of the members ARE willing to sell at a price that represents the value of the chip to them. (ranging from $100 - $250)
5. You then refuse to accept any of the offers and accuse them of price gouging.
6. Several others get involved in thread trying to understand what your motivation is (begging for a chip at any price and then refusing to buy those offered to you) and why you won't clearly explain yourself.
7. You summarily accuse "all of us" of conspiring to take advantage of you.
Doug and the other two weren't trying to take advantage of you. They had something that they didn't want to part with, but as you pointed out - everything has a price. You can't accuse them of trying to take advantage of you because you asked them to name their price (the value of the chip to them) and they did so.
As an analogy - my wife has a poodle(she treats them like children), and sometimes I think she loves them more than me . The FMV of a poodle is probably $300 - $500. If you tried to buy one from her for that amount (or even 10 times that amount), she'd refuse to sell. However, if you offered her a million dollars for one - I think you'd be the proud owner of a new poodle. That doesn't mean she was trying to take advantage of you.
Also, it still is not clear what you were trying to accomplish the past few days. Were you...
a) actually trying to buy the chip?
b) trying to determine a Fair Market Value for the chip?
c) trying to artificially inflate the FMV of the chip?
I think most of us assumed a) at first. But to be honest, it appeared to me (as an unbiased watcher) that you were trying to accomplish c) or possibly b) after you were refusing to be forthcoming earlier today.
Bottom Line - I think that's why you received a lot of antagonistic responses today. You appeared to be trying to be sneaky about something (and trying to artificially inflate a FMV is a serious offense in our hobby).
I hope you understand now how this appeared to most of us, and we weren't conspiring to take advantage of you.
