Re: Fake Dunes Chips for $2000
In Response To: Fake Dunes Chips for $2000 ()

Back when my collection consisted of about a dozen chips I brought back from Vegas, I answered an ad in Coin World for a set of chips from South Padre Island. I had no way of knowing at the time, but they were fantasy chips. I showed them to all my friends and bragged that I bought $136 face value of chips for only $20. I thought I was the king.

I'm sure this happens still today. I think the ONLY way to stop this abuse is for the manufactures to print some kind of "No Cash Value" on them. They simply look too real these days. The uniformed buyer has no way of knowing that they are being taken for fools.

Just my 2cents worth.
