The seller, efxpert, sell all sorts of things and have been responsive to those of us who have bought chips from them. They were in the movie industry and are not chippers. I would peg the "movie props" angle as puffery to a slight degree, but nothing a prudent person shouldn't be able to sort out. The values quoted in their auction presentation are, after all, accurate as far as hobby outsiders like efxpert would know and representative of the values shown in our guides today. Even if these folks were in possesion of a hoard, seems as if a starting price of $9.99 for three chips is fair. Chipping is volatile, markets and chip populations change and luckily we've got some guys that work real hard to provide us with the best value guides they can. I'd say enjoy your chips!
