Mark, that sure is going to be exciting for you--a day I hope you will not forget for years to come.
My wife, (a one time democrat,) shook hand with both JFK and Johnson and still has fond memories of those encounters even though she finally came to her senses and switched parties.
Living in southern California for 35 years, both of us (like many others living in southern Califoria) got to meet many other politicians during the course of time but mostly at rally's where we never really got close enough to see the white of their eyes--including Ronald Reagan, George Bush senior, bumped into Hubert Humphery, and saw President Nixon when he debarked from his plane at El Toro on his way to San Clemente on his last trip home.
I don't mean for this to get political but my wife and I were reminiscing the days of JFK when we thought he was too liberal. Here was a man who asked not what the county can do for us, but what we can do for the country, was a proponent of lower taxes and for a strong national defense.
I just wonder what the liberals of today would think of their hero, JFK now.
