One bet on Cal +32 against Nebraska. Oops, wait a minute. That one DIDN'T work. But, if it had, I'd be ahead and as long as I didn't foolishly bet again (like I did to begin with <g>), I'd have beaten the house).
Long term, of course, you are exactly right. And for most people, short term, too. Statistical probability. Simple math.
