Excellent point Pete. I recently had a check go missing for a small amount of money, to an Ebay seller. "Oddly" enough it was my loss, not his. I never got the chip because I decided not send another check.

I rarely bid on an auction that doesn't take paypal. It only gives the USPS an extra chance to mess up a deal.

For some reason ebay sellers seem to think that they don't have the same responsibility as any other mail order retailer. I'll never understand it.
