Below is a copy of a post made on the Club Web site by Marty Kaplan. VERY disturbing news if the facts are anywhere close to being true......Andy - Las Vegas
Nate,
Sorry guy, but I must take exception to your response regarding Neal's
leaving as the Club's Webmaster.
Many of us are business professionals and expect business to be
conducted with professionalism. Based upon your response you are either misinformed, uninformed or lying. I personally believe it is uninformed because you have always presented yourself with integrity.
Earlier this week, after hearing nothing from the new board since the
end of July, Neal sent Barry Weintraub an email asking, "Where do I fit?"
Here follows Barry's response to Neal.
---------------
Hi Neal:
With my involvement with the local chapters and national PR, I don't have the time to also oversee the club's web site. I spoke to David about this matter several weeks ago and we are searching for a guy to be
our head of the club web site.
We think that we have found the guy...need a couple more days and it should be finalized. As soon as we do, we will put the guy in touch with you and he will work on a direction for the club website.
Considering the direction of the internet...I think that this is an important area for in the future for the club.
By the way, I must commend you and Marty on the terrific job you guys are doing with Chequers.

Without ever speaking to, nor including, him, they (the board) conducted
a 'search' and "We think that we have found the guy" replied to Neal's
email. According to this email Neal would've been replaced and found out
after the fact.
Subsequent to Neal's announcment that he was leaving Barry sent him
another email backpeddling and profering a misunderstanding. At best a
little late.
In the interim you went on the Club's board and 'danced'. Nice dance but
incorrect. If you don't know, don't guess. You should ask, inquire,
investigate if need be, but don't guess. Club officers have to take care
in their public communications. They are speaking for the club to
volunteers and members alike.
Nate here's the bottom line. Weintraub screwed up with a particularly
indelicate, and apparently wrong email. The club lost Neal. You
responded, without looking into the situation, by defending the Board
and presuming that Neal did not have valid and immediate reasons.
This incident is over. The club has lost a fine webmaster, the board - at least in my eyes has been diminished, and my friend Neal has not been given his due
for a great and generous term as Club Webmaster.
The good news is that Chequers gets Neal back full time, for that I thank Barry.
Good luck in your endeavors.
Marty Kaplan
