Hi Don,
My vote is for an undocumented N. Las Vegas Club.
I'm sure it isn't the Pair-O-Dice listed in TGT, there's references to that club in several Las Vegas books and all say it was on Highway 91.
From "Las Vegas-The Great American Playground":
"Captain Guy McAfee, commander of the Los Angeles police department's vice squad---himself a long-time operator of illegal gambling operations---resigned and moved to Las Vegas in 1938. He purchased the Pair-O-Dice Club, a small nightclub about four miles south of Fremont Street on Highway 91, the Los Angeles Highway." Doesn't sound like that could be mistaken for North Las Vegas. Also, a couple of the references indicate that the Pair-O-Dice became Club 91, and later the site of the Last Frontier.
I've checked several phone books from the 1940's through 1973 and there was no listing for a Pair-a-Dice Club. There was a listing in 1969 that was kind of interesting....Pair-a-Dice Trailer Park at 2067 Las Vegas Blvd. North, NLV. Similar business name, same street number, different street name...hmmmmmm...wonder if it means anything?
