If you are referring to the $2.50 imprint on the edge reading "right side up" when viewing the rose, versus the edge $2.50 imprint reading "upside down" on another chip when viewing the rose ... this is common.

No attention is taken regarding CHIPCO edge markings when printing the obverse and reverse sides, especially when there are two different designs on each side of the chip, so it is a random occurance.

Now, having said that ... if one $2.50 printed on the edge is "right side up" and the other $2.50 edge marking on the same chip is "upside down" ... then I would say that you have an error chip.
