... I had posted that my mother was in the hospital and through your thoughts and prayers she rebounded and was released.
She was re-hospitalized the other day and my dad would coach her to hang on saying, "We gotta' fight the bear." The bear finally won, she died 2 days ago and I have been staying with my dad as he is a basket case after 54 years of marrage to his best friend. In MY 51 years on this earth I NEVER once heard either one raise their voice to the other or ever have a fight. They disagreed, but they always worked it out. After that many years they had melded into one, one was part of the other. The loss of my mother has also killed a big part of my dad. I am coping well, I knew this day would come and mentally prepared for it. I also know reality has not fully set in and when everyone (family & friends) leaves reality will hit like a brick. We were all with her, had given a 'No Code' (do not revive) and we held her as she flatlined. She had fought the bear long enough. It was time for her to rest.
Sorry for the bad news.... but so many people helped me through the last "Bear Fight" I wanted to let you know the fight was over. Life is sure hard sometimes..... and it is sure hurting my dad right now.
