I will admit whole heartedly that there are a lot of expenses involved with a routine physical. Paperwork that needs to be filed and stored. mal practice insurance and so on. I will also admit that a physicians knowledge and skill is very valuable. However there is no market force to keep prices in check. It is a monopoly or cartel if you wish. You can't exactly run down to the 7/11 for a second opinion and a better price. So your only recorse is to withold your purchasing power. Boy that's a fine solution.
