() I would say that your communities employment situation is not common.
Around here (Wichita, KS) the aircraft manufacturers drive the local economy. When things are good, the wages are high but when things are bad, as they have been for the past 3 years, 1000 people will apply for jobs that pay between $8 to $10 an hour.
