My initial response to the thread was,

I certainly agree with the majority opinion regarding Captbanjo auctions using a 4-year-old guide. However, I'd like to pose a question for each and every respondent to this issue. Would you bid and how would you feel (if you won) about a TCR "L" chip that you got for $10-15? I'm just wondering if being on the "other side of the fence" would change opinions.

So, as you can see, my questions were not about his ethics or practices, but the principles and standards of knowledge buyers. I agree that his practice appears dishonest and unethical. However, I find that a lot of people adhere to the principle of “situational ethics.” Another way to say that is, “ethics are in the eye of the beholder.” I don’t agree with either statement, but regrettably I am sure I have practiced them at one time or another. I was merely wondering how many respondents would view Captbanjo a little differently if they were able to purchase a bargain according to the up-to-date TCR. No more, no less.

I hope this clears up my questions. I can also see that it didn’t generate much discussion.
